Having been pregnant 3 times, I identify with the insecurity around our pregnant bodies. But I have also come to realize that, while it doesn't feel like it at the time, pregnancy goes past in a fleeting moment and capturing the memory of such a special time is a wonderful thing.
I have always been fascinated by the beauty of a pregnant woman. To me, a pregnant woman is like a classical sculpture - the lines, and bulges and imperfections are all beautiful because of what they represent. I love to work with simple qualities that maximize this beauty. I work with soft natural light and high quality film that combine to highlight the raw and simple delicacy of a pregnant belly. I encourage my clients to get as comfortable as possible and avoid creating too much structure or formality, and that extends to encouraging a minimum of clothes, props and even make up.
The combination of soft natural light, the delicate qualities of film and an informal, honest setting help create an enjoyable experience and a wonderful memory of a truly special moment in a woman's life.
